Gladys Vernie King was born June 1, 1920 in the community of Shannon, Texas She was the daughter of George Washington and Nannie Bell Fortner Farless. She married the late Royce "Buddy" Clifford King. Gladys was a Homemaker and member Bethel Assembly of God in Jacksboro. She passed away, Friday, October 4, 2013 in Decatur Texas at the age of 93 years old.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sons, Eldon and Weldon King; David Wayne King and 3 grandchildren.

She is survived today by her daughter Velda Rhoades and husband Calvin; her son Roger King; 3 grandchildren, Ronald " Trapper" Rhoades; Gene Rhoades and Denise Stephens; 9 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

Services will be held 10 am Wednesday October 9, 2013 Coker Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Hicks Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday 6-7pm at Coker Funeral Home.
