In Memory of my Great Grandmother.... (My father, Felix's Grandmother and Pedro's wife)

My Great Grandmother Dorotea married Pedro Benavidez. She already had a son, Ramon. Pedro adopted her son and his name became... Ramon Pedro Benavidez. ( R.P.Benavidez)

Dorotea's parents where Father, Jose Basilio de Abrigo, born 1839 and died 1924. Mother, Maria del Rosario de Abrigo, born 1848 and died 1940.

Her maternal grandfather was Trinidad Altamira born in 1807.
Her paternal grandfather was Jose Lorenzo de Abrego died 1880.

We have always known he was adopted. The question remains who was his father. Different family members have different tales. One story is that his father, Mr. Douglas, an Indian, from Oklahoma came down to Encino every year to deliver cattle to the King Ranch and this is where he met my Great Grandmother Dorotea. She became pregnant and had a son, Ramon. Not sure we will every know the truth.

* Date on Death Certificate is different. They have July 2, 1937 as her death date and the year 1887 as her birth year.
