Willis V. Wolfe, age 91, of Mount Vernon passed away on Saturday morning, September 28, 2013 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home. He was born on April 9, 1922 in Gambier, son of the late Jacob R. and Mina Mae (Hinkle) Wolfe.

Willis was a member of Grove Church of Christ near Gambier. He retired from HPM in Mount Gilead after many years of faithful service. Willis courageously served his country in the Army during WWII in the European Theater.

Willis is survived by his wife, Helen L. (Chaney) Wolfe, whom he married on December 24, 1948; step son, Ed Strouse of Mount Vernon; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Robert Wolfe of La Quinta, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Willis was preceded in death by a step son, Robert Strouse; his brothers, Arthur, Leroy, Leo, Theodore, and James; and sisters, Ethel, Edna, Emma, and Madge.

A graveside service will held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with Minister Victor Slutz officiating. Military Honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
