Robinson, Bettie Drane, 89, a wife, homemaker and mother, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at her home in New Roads. A native of Brookhaven, Miss., she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Adair Robinson Sr.; parents, Josie Mercedes Becker and Lewis Thomas Drane; two brothers, Henry Tupper Drane III and Becker Drane; and a sister, Mac (Mrs. Marion) Sanford. She is survived by six children, Alfred Adair Robinson Jr. and his wife, Linda Pitts, Douglass Robinson III and his wife, Susan Beatty, Thomas Drane Robinson, Maryanna Robinson, Paul Davis Robinson and his wife, Patricia Webb, and Margaret Mercedes Robinson and her husband, David Legnon; 12 grandchildren, Alfred A. Robinson III, Tracy Louise Robinson, Amanda Kim Robinson, Rebecca Robinson Marceaux, Amber Robinson Teague, Lynn Robinson McCoy, John Thomas Robinson, Leigh Anna Robinson, Georgia Ann Robinson, Katherine Lynn Robinson, Paul Davis Robinson Jr. and Wallis John Morgan III; and seven great-grandchildren, Haley Robinson, Andrew Adair Robinson, Maggie Marie Marceaux, Matthew Douglass Marceaux, Olivia Whitlock McCoy, Clay Houston McCoy and Trevor William Teague. She was a graduate of Central High School in Jackson, Miss., and attended Millsaps College in Jackson, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She was a member of the Mother's Culture Club and St. Mary's Adoration Chapel. Visitation at Niland's Funeral Home in New Roads was on Sunday, Feb. 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Roads, is on Monday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. until funeral Mass at noon, conducted by the Rev. Bob Stine. Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Alfred Adair Robinson III, John Thomas Robinson, Wallis John Morgan III and Paul D.
