LaVon Brauer, 71, of Rockford died at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2000, at her residence after a sudden illness. She was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Rockford, the daughter of Victor and Noulia Mary LaDuc Olson. Lifelong Rockford-area resident. She owned Oak View Restaurant for many years and also was a school bus driver.
Survivors include sons, Daryl (Pam) Brauer of Machesney Park and Dennis (Lisa) Brauer of Cable, Wis. daughters, Marcia (Dick) Jensen and Kimberly Brauer of Machesney Park, Brenda Eileen Shurman of Denver, Colo., and Tamra Kruse of Rockford 14 grandchildren six great-grandchildren brothers, Robert (Elaine) Olson of Belvidere, Victor Olson, John Olson and Raymond Olson, all of Rockford and sisters, Jean (Leonard) Szeluga of Rockford and Madalene Brolander of Tamarac, Fla. Predeceased by parents and brothers, Harold, Richard, Gerald and Roland Olson.
Services at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 6, in Perry Funeral Home & Crematory, 6825 Weaver Road, one block south of the intersection of Perryville Road and Riverside Boulevard. Father William Wentink will officiate. Visitation for friends and family will be from 5 p.m. to service time Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
