Bertha Clemans, age 79, passed away at her home in Leesburg, formerly of Rensselaer, on October 2, 2013. The daughter of Sam and Maude (nee: Allen) Bailey, she was born December 26, 1933 in Salyersville, Kentucky. Bertha was always associated with the food industry as she worked at Rafferties Restaurant in Rensselaer. She had also worked at Northway in Rensselaer.
Bertha is survived by three daughters, Patty, Mary and JoAnn; four sons, Richard, Charles, James and Steve; 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Richard, four sisters, five brothers, and one grandson.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove Street, Wheatfield, IN. Services will take place at the funeral home on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Rick Helton officiating. Graveside services will take place Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the DeMotte Cemetery.
