Mrs. Gertie L. Jackson, who lived in the Barney community northeast of Lorimor, died at the Memorial hospital in Winterset Tuesday, Aug. 16. She was 65 years of age.
Mrs. Jackson had been ill with cancer for some time, and had been a patient in Winterset and Des Moines hospitals for several weeks prior to her death.
She is survived by her husband Byron Jackson of Lorimor; three daughters, Mrs. Leona Handley of New Virginia, Mrs. Vada Shelley of Winterset and Helen Jackson, at home; a son, Ralph Jackson of Barney; three grandsons; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Proost of Great Falls, Mont., and Mrs. Vesta Dodd of Lorimor; and two brothers, Roy Hiskey of St. Joseph, Mo., and Elzia Hiskey of Lorimor.
