Margery Masterson Wyman, age 92, died peacefully on Sunday, September 29, within the circle of her five daughters.

She was born Margery Louise Bent, June 3, 1921, in Lincoln, Vermont.

A sixth-generation Vermonter, she was the daughter of Morton Bent and Louise Kelton Bent. Some of her fondest childhood memories were of the years she spent in South Lincoln, at the home of her grandparents Adelaide and Lewis Kelton. As a young girl, Margery was a stellar math and spelling student, enjoyed her participation in 4H, and often skied to school from her grandparents' farm where she spent many happy years with her special childhood cousin, Barbara Kelton Wheelock.

Margery married Edward (Ned) Charles Masterson on February 4, 1940. The first winter of their marriage, Marge and Ned lived and worked in a logging camp in Texas Falls. Then Margery worked at a number of local businesses before their children were born. During these years they built homes in East Middlebury and Bristol, Margery became a member of the Eastern Star and the Federated Church in Bristol, and developed many friendships including that of her dear sister-in-law Margaret (Peggy) Masterson Dragon. Marge and Ned had five daughters and moved to Brandon where they lived from 1958 until after Ned's passing. During those years Margery ran a home daycare business and provided for her large family. She raised and preserved harvests from their bountiful gardens and made delicious homemade bread and doughnuts. Margery enjoyed knitting mittens for all her grandchildren, and created beautiful embroidered items as well. In 1981 Margery started her first career outside the home at Vermont Associates in Middlebury, where she found jobs for older workers. For five years, Margery linked people with jobs and won many awards for having the highest placement rates in the organization.

In 1992 Margery was predeceased by Ned after 52 years of marriage. Several years later she met and married Eldon (Speedy) Wyman.

They enjoyed nine years together, travelling and participating in the Champlain Valley Fiddler's Association. In the last few years of her life, Margery continued to enjoy her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, her love of reading, and her meals at Rosie's. She and her companion Bob Many also spent many happy times together participating in the Champlain Valley Fiddler's Club. Bob's support and care of Margery allowed her to live in her home until her passing.

Margery was predeceased by brothers Irwin Bent of Sherburne and Robert Bent of Brandon; sisters-in-law Ann Clark Bent of New Sharon, Maine, and Shirley Landon Bent of Sherburne; and several nieces and nephews.

Margery is survived by two brothers, Daniel Bent, of New Sharon, Maine, and Lewis (Mary) Bent, of Corinth, New York; and her five daughters: Margo Masterson of Brandon; Margaret (Robert) Fish of Pittsford; Marcia (Thomas) Perry of Starksboro; Jennie Masterson of Brandon (Len Schmidt); Josie Masterson-Glen (William Glen) of New Haven; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday October 4, 2013 from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. at Sanderson –Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main Street Middlebury.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Middlebury United Methodist Church in Middlebury on Saturday, October 5, at 2 pm. with the Rev. Lee Adkins officiating.
