John Woodford Matherlee was the son of Nancy Ann Ruff (1810-1850>60) and Daniel Matherlee, (1800-1850>60).

John married Mary Ann, "Polly" Jenkins, daughter of Sarah Wood, (1795-1837) and Joel Jenkins, (1774-1863) on May 1, 1845 in Butler County, KY.

J.W. (John Woodford) Matherlee and "P. A." Polly Ann are buried in the Matherlee family cemetery. This cemetery is located on the original Matherlee family farm between Dunmor and New Hebron. When I last visited this cemetery, many years ago, I recall it being a small plot in a secluded wooded area. We had to hike up a small incline to the location.

John B. Mayes, (1856-after 1930), husband of Frances E. "Fan" Matherlee, (1857-1941) daughter of J.W. and Polly is buried at this cemetery as well as their infant daughter Etta. I will add more info after speaking with family members concerning this cemetery. Diane Addington Matherly
