Rolland was a member of the Wapakoneta Church of the Nazarene. He had received the E.P. Ellyson Sunday School award of Excellence and Sunday School Ministries Second Mile Award. He had been a welder for 38 years working for Thieman Stamping Company and General Dynamics. He had tractors in over 100 tractor shows and parades. He built a reproduction Farmall F-20 Tractor that he enjoyed showing in many parades. He also enjoyed wood working and upholstering. He had been a disc jockey for WTGN radio in Lima. He really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Additional survivors include a son David (Jean) Kiefer of St. Marys, 3 daughters: Sandra (Ron) Miller of Wapakoneta, Brenda Kelly of St. Marys and Debra (Buddy) Vining of St. Marys, 5 stepsons: David Nuesmeyer of Lima, Kermit (Joan) Nuesmeyer of Zanesfield, Richard (Becky) Nuesmeyer of Cridersville, Richard (Brenda) Nuesmeyer of Wapakoneta and Kenneth Nuesmeyer of Lima, 3 stepdaughters: Vicki (Wallace) Herald of Lima, Arlene Packard of Austin, Texas and Carol Blass of Cridersville, a brother: Don Kiefer of North Carolina, sister Betty Kiefer of Deland, Florida and a brother-in-law Dick Elsass of New Knoxville. 6 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by first wife: Gwen, second wife Dorothy, a great granddaughter Haleigh Albers a son-in-law Terry Kelly and 2 sisters: June Kiefer and Mary Lou Elsass.
The family will receive friends Wed. June 28 from 2:00 until 7:00 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10:00a.m., Thursday, June 28 at Cridersville Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Jonathon Spyker and Rev. Keith Stuck officiating. Burial will follow in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery and military rites will be observed. Memorial contributions may be given to the Nazarene missions program.
