Professor Samuel Earnest Leigh was a successful farmer, educator, and statesman. He married Mrs. Itura Colley on August 3, 1904 some years after her first husband passed away. He was the principal of the Grantville school and served on the Board of Education. The Leigh's were very active members of the Methodist Church.
