Alvin W. Baebler Feb. 25, 1919 - July 28, 1983
Alvin W. Baebler, 64, Monticello, died Thursday, July 28, 1983, at his home following a
lingering illness.
Born on the Baebler homestead farm in Mount Pleasant Township, Green County, on Feb.
25, 1919, he was the son of Vinzenz and Elizabeth Bryner Baebler. On July 16, 1948, he was
married to Marie S. Disch at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. They farmed in Mount
Pleasant Township and then moved to Monticello. He was employed for the P.W. Ryan
Company, Janesville, in construction for the past 25 years.
He was a confirmed member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello.
Survivors are his wife, Marie; a stepson, Jim Disch, Monticello; one brother, Herman,
Redwood City, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Hahn, Arlington, and Mrs, Frieda Pickett,
Monroe; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Fred and John.
Following cremation, public graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 6,
at Highland Cemetery in Monticello. Rev. Charles G. Workman will officiate.
