Goldie Trimble Harper was born on May 27, 1920 to Elmer and Mabel Matthews Trimble. Goldie attended grades 1-12 in Westhope and graduated in 1938.

In 1939 a young man came to the Westhope area; his name was Cliff Harper. He worked for a local farmer during the farming season and also attended the local school. In 1941 Cliff moved to California to work; and later that year Goldie joined him. They were married December 31, 1941 in Yuma, AZ.

Cliff was in the Navy and in 1946 when he was discharged they made their home in Westhope, Bottineau, ND.

In 1964 they purchased a cabin at Lake Metigoshe, where the family spent many happy times. In 1978 Cliff and Goldie started wintering in Arizona. They lived in the same mobile home park for 30 years and enjoyed all aspects of retirement.

Goldie was an avid bridge player, and enjoyed most card games. During the summer months they divided their time between the farm in Westhope and Lake Metigoshe.

Goldie and Cliff were married 67 years and raised 3 children: Cathi, Clifford "Kip" Jr and Craig.
