Wife of Ransom Frederick Everett. Daughter of Erastus Curtiss & Harriett Tanner

Ellen Harriet Curtiss-Everett was born in Warren, Litchfield county, Conn., Aug. 3, 1825, and died at her home at Waverly, Ill., Sept. 13, 1910, having reached the extreme age of 85 years, 1 month and 10 days.

On March 13, 1851, at Warren, Conn. she was united in marriage to Mr. Ransom F. Everett of Ellsworth, Conn. After living a few years at this latter place, Mr. Everett joined the westward pioneer movement and in 1860, came with his family to this vicinity, where they have ever since resided. Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Everett; Erastus C. and Adeline L., both of whom are still living.

Mrs. Everett early in life united with the Congregational church of Warren, Conn., and on coming to Waverly united with the Congregational church in November of 1860. She has ever since been a member of that church and a faithful and consistent christian. Her life is one that will be remembered for quiet, unobtrusive christian usefulness; for a kind heart and happy spirit that won the love of all who knew her.

Death came not with violence, but as the release of a soul from its outworn earthly habitation. About 12 weeks ago Mrs. Everett was taken ill. For a time she rallied but again became more feeble and slowly declined until the end came. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at the deceased late home, conducted by Rev. M. F. Miller, pastor of the church of which she was a member. Interment was made in East cemetery.
