BURT L. HIATT
DUBLIN -- Burt L. Hiatt, 90 years old, a lifetime resident of this community, died Wednesday after a short illness. He was a retired farmer and banker. In his youth he had been a driver in harness racing.
He was a former member of the Town Board and had helped in establishing the Dublin water works. He was instrumental in securing the five bridges over the railroad in Dublin.
He was a member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau and of the Dublin Friends Church.
Survivors include the widow, Eva Beeson Hiatt; one daughter, Mrs. Jack Brelthautt of Cedar Falls, Iowa; one stepson, Robert Beeson, Rural Route 1, Cambridge City; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Hiatt will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Doll Funeral Home. Rev. James Johnson and Rev. Frank C. Guyatt will officiate with burial in South Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and prior to the service on Friday.
