MESS DROWNS; RITES TUESDAY.
The funeral of Raymond A. Mess, 26, of Susquehanna, Pa., who drowned accidentally in the Susquehanna River near his home Saturday afternoon, will be held tomorrow afternoon. Unable to swim, Mr. Mess lost his life after entering the stream with two other young men of the community.
Pennsylvania State Police from the New Milford Barracks who recovered the body at 5:30 p.m were told Mr. Mess had just eaten a hearty meal and that he became caught in a swift current. Coroner Kenneth A. Bush of South Montrose termed the drowning accidental after investigation and examination of the body. Mr. Mess will be buried in McKune Cemetery at Oakland after services at 3 o'clock in the Burke Funeral Home in Great Bend.
Survivors include:
Two sisters, Mrs. Robert Powell of Susquehanna, Mrs. Myron Munson of Seattle, Wash.; three brothers, Harold A. and Floyd R. of Great Bend, and John A. of Susquehanna, a half brother Charles Hawkins of Susquehanna.
