son of B.F. & M.J. Abercrombie

Walter Abercrombie died Sunday morning of typhoid fever and pneumonia. The remains were interred in the cemetery at Thornsberry Sunday evening. Rev. J.P. Humphreys preached his funeral to a large crowd of weeping relatives and friends. We would say to the bereaved family: "We are gathering home, one by one," and we don't know how long the separation may be and for you to be fully prepared to meet the son and brother gone before.
Note: Although his tombstone indicates a birth year of 1875, the 1880 Federal Census (Elm Springs, Washington Co., Arkansas) indicates his birth year was 1874. His middle, in that census, is "F." and likely equates to "Franklin".
