Trellis Maurice Bivins, Sr., LCDR, USCG (Ret)
Bivins was born on October 21, 1960 and departed this life on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. He was a resident of Indian Head, Maryland and a native of Mobile, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend John Lee Bivins, Sr., and his brother, John Lee Bivins, Jr. He is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-two years, Jacquelyn Bivins, his two sons, Trellis Bivins, Jr. and Jared Altice, his mother, Bettye Bivins, his mother-in-law, Anne McSwain, his grandmother, Bertha McGadney, one brother, Tracy (Sharon) Bivins, three sisters, Valerie (Maurice) Fanning, Sonja Bivins and Ashley (Bruce) Crosby, two brothers-in-law, Stanley (Cynthia) McSwain and Roderick (Linda) McSwain, three sisters-in-law, Veronica LaShore, Brenda (Horace) Wright, and Cindy McSwain, three aunts, Bertha (Robert) Robinson, Elizabeth (Eddie) Miller and Linda Ervin and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Ebenezer Baptist Church (5051 Ebenezer Drive). Interment immediately following at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery (Spanish Fort). Funeral arrangements entrusted to Small's Mortuary.
