"Anthony Ebach, a respected resident of Saginaw for the last 34 years, died at the family home, 1312 Monroe Street, at 8 o'clock Monday morning of artero sclerosis, aged 74 years. Mr. Ebach was born June 13, 1843 in Preston, Waterloo County, Ontario, where his childhood days were spent. He was married to Miss Mary Guitar in Ruth, MI on Spetember 3, 1868. After marriage they lived in Ruth until 1883, when they came to Saginaw, which has since been the family home. Mr. Ebach was a carpenter by trade and has followed contracting and carpentry since coming here. He was possessed of a wide acquaintance, and enjoyed the respect and friendship of all who knew him. He was a member of St. Andrew's Church. Fraternally he was a member of Saginaw Tent No. 107, K. O. T. M. He leaves his wife, three sons and six daughters, Mrs. M. J. Farrell; Mrs. Ray L. Downie; and Nicholas, of Saginaw; Mrs. George Salnave, of Knoxville, TN; Mrs. Byron Sager; Mrs. Archie Hall; and Ezra, of Flint; A. J. Ebach, of Detroit; and Miss Jessie, at home. He also leaves 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; five brothers; and four sisters.

The funeral took place at 8:30 Wednesday morning from the family home, 1312 Monroe Street, and at 9 o'clock from St. Andrew's Church. High Mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. H. P. Maus. The solos "Nearer, My God to Thee," "Lead Kindly Light," and "Loving Shepherd," by Rudolph Deveaux. Burial was in the family lot at St. Andrew's Cemetery. There was a large profusion of flowers from friends and neighbors, among them pieces from L. O. O. M. No. 82, Gage Hive; M. W. Tanner Club, and from the girls' department; also pieces from Tell City, IN; Flint; Ruth; Palmo; Vernon; and Elsie, MI. The casket was covered with a beautiful floral blanket from the children. The pallbearers were John; Mike; and Gedion Ebach; Nickless, and Joseph Guitar; and M. J. Farrell."
