She used her dancing and choreography talents to help organize fundraising shows for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She also choreographed performances for the community theater in Cleveland and was active in the American Legion Auxiliary in Cleveland.

She is survived by her two daughters, Durham Hernden Herzog of Gillette, Wis., and Karen Hernden Holman of Innsbrook, Mo; her younger sister, Martha Keywood Mikhailoff of Rockport, Texas; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A private family memorial service will be held in Wisconsin, where the body was cremated. A memorial service will be held on September 17, 2005, in Cleveland. Ashes will be interred in New Cleveland Cemetery, where her second husband is buried.
