Hazel was a 1922 graduate of Janesville Wisconsin High School. She married Fred Bruni on November 15, 1927 in Freeport, Illinois. They had one son. Fred Bruni was one of six officers for Company A of the 192nd Tank Battalion (The Janesville 99). Hazel was a charter member of the 192nd Tank Battalion Auxilary. She worked at the Rock County Register of Deeds Office, the Chevrolet Plant in Janesville and the Janesville Post Office.
