WEST CHAZY -- Barbara Faith Dey, 59, of Route 22, West Chazy, died peacefully Thursday, May 15, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Plattsburgh, Sept. 27, 1948, the daughter of Clifford Ashton and Dorothy June (Dragoon) Dey.
She graduated from Hemmingford High School. She was a lifelong caregiver for brain trauma patients and the elderly.
Barb loved to run the roads, coupon shopping, going to garage sales and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her cherished "little people" (grandchildren).
Survivors include her husband, Wayne G. Berry of West Chazy; her mother, Dorothy June (Dragoon) Dey of Hemmingford; three daughters, Shannon Dauphinais and her husband Donald Lloyd of Hemmingford, Quebec, Robyn Dauphinais of Raleigh, N.C., and Krista Dauphinais of Montreal, Quebec; her four grandchildren, Caitlyn and Sierra Lloyd and Sabrina and Chloe Noel-Dauphinais; one brother, Kenneth Dey of Vallejo, Calif.; one sister, Laureen Dey of Huntington, Quebec; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Clifford Ashton Dey.
Friends and relatives may call Friday, May 23, 2008, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Sharpe Funeral Home, 461 Champlain St., Hemmingford, Quebec. Calling hours will also be held Saturday, May 24, 2008, from 11 to noon at the Sharpe Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home with Rev. Sally Myers, pastor of the St. Andrew's United Church, officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the family plot in Mooers.
Local arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru.
