Born on August 12, 1938, in Crockett, Texas, Carol was the daughter of the late Thomas and Teddye Davis. She graduated from Bryan High School (SFA) in 1956, and received a BBA from Sam Houston State in 1959. Carol married Stephen W. Haines, Jr. in 1968, and together they raised their family in Houston, before retiring to their dream home in Boerne in 2004.Carol was secretary to the Medical Director at Humble Oil & Refinery until she left to begin her family. In Houston, she was an active member of Chapelwood Methodist Church and the Houston Alumnae Association of Alpha Delta Pi where she served several years on the board. She loved to travel and enjoyed playing tennis and reading.
Carol is survived by her husband of 45 years, Stephen Haines; her two children, Catherine Englishby and husband, Rory, of Austin, Texas, and Douglas Haines of Memphis, Tenn.; and her grandson, Ciaran Englishby.
