James is survived by his wife Shirley, mother Dorthea Jean Dixon Finch, Brothers Cliff Dixon, Danny Dixon, Kelly Dixon (Linda), Sister Mary Ann Wilson (Ray), his children Taffie Evans, Sandi Evans, Yancy Scott (Penny), Jamie Dixon Sanders (LaMar), Yancey J. Quick, Step children Junior Gifford, Angela Gifford, and many nieces and nephews, 16 grandchildren and 3 great grand children who he held dear.
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas C. Dixon, Brother Tommy G. Dixon, one niece Erin Mackenzie & nephew Matthew Wheeler.
