Raynold W. "Shorty" Edwall, 61, town of Spooner, died on Thursday, May 6, 1999, at Terraceview Living Center, Shell Lake.He was born in Shell Lake on Feb. 23, 1938, to Hugo and Marie (Biver) Edwall. He was raised in the Shell Lake/Spooner area. Following his freshman year at Spooner High School he attended St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee.He spent most of his adult life in St. Paul where he was employed as an electronic sales representative. He had been a resident of the town of Spooner since June 1994.He is survived by three sons, Phillip, Webb Lake, Mark (Karen), North St. Paul, and Joseph, Somerset; one brother, Alfred, St. Paul; three sisters, Theresa (Arthur) Sundeen, Spooner, T. Ann (Richard) Breitbach, Maplewood, Minn., and Mary (Richard) Denham, Janesville; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents.A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Spooner, with Fr. James J. Jackson the celebrant. Music will be provided by the church choir, accompanied by Sr. Dominica Effertz, organist. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Shell Lake.Serving as casket bearers were Jim Denham and Frank Jr., Jim, Jon, Ted, and Tom Biver.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Scalzo Funeral Home, Spooner. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday.
