He was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Holden to Ira M. and Blanche Cummings Vermillion. He is survived by his wife.
Mr. Vermillion retired in 1993 as the office manager of Rhoda Brother's Inc., after 45 years. He was a member of the First Evangelical and Reformed Church and its Builders Sunday School class. He was a member of the Fort Shawnee Lions Club. He was a 1942 graduate of Lima South High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son; a daughter; four grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ron B. Vermillion; and a brother, Glen Vermillion.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Ronald Fruth will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Evangelical and Reformed Church, Fort Shawnee Lions Club or the Parkinsons Support Group.
