Born and raised on a farm in Auglaise, Ohio. Married Lela McClintock and was an oil man in Oklahoma. They had eight children. Two died as infants in Oklahoma. Three families came from the Texas oil fields to work in the ship yard in Houghton WA. during the war. They raised their family in Bellevue and later retired to Lake Joy. Dode was a Deacon in the Congregational Church of Carnation, WA. He was a story teller, raised rabbits, chickens, pigeons, and had a bee hive. Good family times together. Loved the fall especially making fresh apple cider. Wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
