RESIDENT OF MOWEAQUA FOR FORTY YEARS DIES
Elmer Kinney, 66, Had Been Ailing During Past Six Weeks
MOWEAQUA - Elmer Kinney, 66, died in his home in Moweaqua Friday morning after an illness of six weeks of complications.
Mr Kinney was born at Cowden, Ill., in 1863. He was married April 17, 1889 to Miss Jennie Elizabeth Miller of Shelbyville. Thirteen children were born to this union. Ralph dying in infancy and Flora died about four years ago. Besides his wife he leaves the following children: Walter in the Regular Army at San Antonio, TX; Mrs Susie Kelly of St Louis; Mrs Lulu Sams of Decatur; Mrs Helen Reatherford, Mrs Ruth Christy, Clarence Kinney, all living in or near Moweaqua; Everett, Will, Glen, Charles and Verne at home.
He also leaves one sister, Mrs Nettie Shephard at Shelbyville. His brother, James Kinney, passed away about a month ago in Decatur.
Mr and Mrs Kinney have lived in and near Moweaqua for the past 40 years.
During Mr Kinney's last illness he was converted and accepted the Methodist doctrine and was baptized by Rev Mr Berry.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 in the Methodist church. Rev Mr Berry will have charge.

The bearers were four sons in law and two nephews,
Charles Kelly, of St Louis
James Sams, of Decatur,
Charles Reatherford and Harry Christy of Moweaqua,
Sam and Floyd Kinney of Decatur.
Burial was in the North Side Cemetery
