M. Maxine Buenneke , 92 of Des Moines, Iowa died Sunday, September 22 at Scottish Rite Park.
Maxine was born in Oelwein, Iowa on July 25, 1921 to Henry and Louise Hunter Corcoran. Maxine was married to Robert (Bob) Buenneke of Maynard, Iowa on November 2, 1950 at St. Paul's Catholic Church by Father Holtkamp in Davenport, Iowa. They resided in Arlington, Iowa for several years where Maxine was employed as a telephone operator and Bob was employed by the Arlington Bank.
After that, they moved to Des Moines, Iowa where Maxine spent time traveling the State of Iowa extensively with Bob as a correspondent banker with Iowa Des Moines National Bank (now Wells Fargo).
Upon their retirement in the early 1980's, Maxine divided her time between West Des Moines, Iowa and Tarpon Springs, Florida where they both enjoyed traveling, cruises, and visiting relatives and friends.
Maxine is survived by her twin sisters Janet Straetker (Davenport) and Janice Leemans (Moline) and many nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, her brothers Jack and Donald Corcoran and sisters Dolores Loban (Oelwein) and Kathleen Koster (Rock Island, Ill).
Services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 28th and visitation will start an hour earlier at 9:30. Luncheon at the church will follow, and burial at the Fairview Cemetery, Denver, Iowa afterward.
