Obituary:
John B. Beranc
After an illness of four months, John B. Beranc died yesterday at noon at the age of 52 years. Mr. Beranc was a native of Havana, Cuba, but had spent practically all of his life in this city, having come to Savannah when a lad. For twenty-six years he was employed by the Atlantic Coast Line Railway in the freight department of that road and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks and the Employees Mutual Relief Association. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Marie L. Loughead of this city, and two brothers, Lawrence A. and James F. Beranc, also of this city. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the residence, No. 508 Habersham Street, followed by services at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Services at the Cathedral will be conducted by the Rev. Father O'Sullivan. The interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Joseph Molina, H.M. Sledge, J.P. Harrison, C.R. Machelbrock, W.C. Merritt and W.A. Muller.
