Don retired from the Belmont Water Plant after 37 years of service and served in the Air National Guard. For more than 60 years he was a local country musician and band leader and loved to sing and play the guitar. He enjoyed hosting the Saturday morning Bluegrass Show on WCGC and had many loyal listeners. He'll be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children Rhonda Kelly and husband Scott of Gastonia, Dale Beaty and wife Amanda of Gastonia; brother Bernard Beaty of Harrisburg, NC; and his beloved grandchildren Nolan, Audrey and Caroline Beaty, Brenna and Owen Kelly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Brenda Brewer Beaty; infant children Pamela and Curtis Beaty and brothers Warren, William and Kenneth Beaty.
