Audrey "Nonnie" Corn, age 94, of Baird, TX, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 29, 2013, in the First Baptist church of Baird, TX, with Pastor Jimmy Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow in Ross Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 until 6:30 P.M. Saturday evening at the funeral home in Baird.
Audrey "Nonnie" was born February 19, 1919, in Lamesa, TX to Jacob Boone Peeler and Lula Hailey Peeler. She married the love of her life, Lowell Cleo Corn, in December of 1936 in Baird. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Baird. "Nonnie" was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed.
While raising her family, she worked as a telephone operator and then worked in Hendrick Health Care, taking the very best care of her patients. She always took time out to attend all the sporting events of all her kids and grandkids. Besides raising her family, she helped raise Paula's daughter Missy, and son Tommy Joe, along with Missy's kids, Holley, Hannah, and Heath. She was the best "Nonnie" ever! Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
Survivors include 3 sons, Robert L. Corn and wife Toby of The Woodlands, TX, Jerry H. Corn and wife Anne of Dallas, TX, and Larry R. Corn and wife Edwina of Hurst, TX; 2 daughters, Paula K. Corn, and Betty C. Clark and husband Jim, all of Baird, TX; 1 sister, Dorothy Peeler Hilton of Lubbock, TX; 1 sister-in-law, Doris Corn of Tyler, TX; along with 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Baird/Missions.
