CHARLESTON - Mrs. Amanda Emily Gillean, formerly of Charleston and East Prairie, died Sunday at 12:50 p.m. in St. Mary's Hospital, Cairo, where she bad been making her home with a daughter Mrs Stephen DeJarnett. Mrs, Gillean, a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. William Thompson, of Charleston, had been a patient in the hospital for three week:
She was born Jul, 31. 1882 at Charleston, and was a member of the East Prairie Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Ernest Gillean of Rock Island, Ill . and Russell Gillean of Davenport, IA: five daughters, Mrs. W. O. Botter of Sikeston, Mrs. Roy Stark of Davenport, IA., Mrs Harold Lindley of East St. Louis, Ill; Miss Stephen DeJarnett of Cairo, and Mrs. William Timmons of Lakeside, Mich.; one brother, Hazard Thompson of Charleston: 19 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
The body is at the McMikie Funeral Home here, where services will be held Tuesday at
2 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Burke officiating.
Burial will be at the Odd Fellows cemetery.
