Joy L. McMurry, age 98, of Winnfield, La., died Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at her residence in Winnfield, La. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield where she was active in the W. M. U. and Keenage Choir. She was also a member of Palestine Chapter #55, Order of the Eastern Star and the Winn Home Demonstration Club.
She was the daughter of the late Harvey McMaster and the late Minnie (Snyder) McMaster.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Homes; 202 E. Lafayette St., Winnfield, La. Funeral services were at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2003. Rev. Lindsey Burns officiated. Interment was at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield, La.
She was survived by one daughter, Patsy M. (McMurry) Pulley of Winnfield, LA; one grandson, Pat Pulley of Irving, TX; one granddaughter, Gayle Simmons of La Porte, TX; five great granddaughters, Laura Richards of Houston, TX, Denise Hicks of Dallas, TX, Heather Rodriguez of La Porte, TX, Danielle Rodriguez of La Porte, TX, and Shelby Pulley of Fort Myers, FL; one great grandson, Sam Pulley of Austin, TX; and one very dear friend, Peggy Jordan of Winnfield, LA.
Pallbearers were Tommy Simmons, Dr. Jerry Williams, Dickie Heard, Donald Gorham, Charlie Clark, and Cliff Whitehead. Honorary Pallbearers were Andre Derr and Rick Hicks.
