Frank Sisco, son of Oliver and Margaret (Mayhew) Sisco, was born about 1844 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and died 18 March 1878 in Montrose Township, Genesee County, Michigan. He served in the Civil War, Private, Company I, 23rd Regiment, Michigan Infantry. He enlisted 20 September 1864 in Montrose, MI, was wounded on 26 November 1864 during skirmishes in front of Columbia, Maury County, Tennessee and mustered out 21 Jun 1865 because of his wounds (shot fracture of his right leg, subsequently amputated at thigh in middle third, exhibiting gangrene and receiving successful treatment). His death record states Frank was black and was maimed (from the wound incurred during the Civil War).

Frank married (1 )Elizabeth "Libbie" Thomas, age 19, on 26 December 1865 in Flushing, MI. Libbie was born about 1848 in MI and died before 1873, probably in childbirth.

After Libbie died Frank married (2) Melissa Streeter on 20 Dec 1867 in Flint, MI. Melissa was born about 1845 in MI and died (?). Frank and Melissa had 3 children:
(1) Almira Alma Sisco b. 12 Aug 1874 Genesee Co, MI; d. 12 Feb 1875 Genesee Co, MI, age 3m of "inflammation"

(3) Eddy V. Sisco b. 10 Mar 1878 Genesee County, MI; d. 18 Mar 1879 Genesee Co, MI (Eddy was born 8 days before his father, Frank, died.)
