Sterling , May 11 - Funeral services for Silas Hemminger, 72, who died Friday at his home on Woodburn avenue, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Trouth funeral home. The Rev. Allan Billman, pastor of the Fourth Street M.E. church, officiated and burial was in Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Hemminger was born at Bremen, Ind., Oct. 6, 1863, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Hemminger, and was married to Miss Mary Etta Mitchell at Troy, Mich., May 8, 1886. The family lived in Michigan for several years before coming to Sterling in 1919.
Besides his widow, Mr. Hemminger leaves five children, Abraham, Amos Uriah, William C. and Wash Hemminger, all of Sterling, and John of Buchanan, Mich., and a half sister, Mrs. Tillie Pittman, Bremen, Ind.
