ROYAL CENTER — Pearl I. Mappin, 81, Royal Center, died at 11:20 a.m. Saturday at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.

Born Nov. 1, 1900, in Royal Center to W.O. and Alice B. (Burgess) Everman, she was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Helping Hands. She was a past chief of the Pithian Sisters.

In September 1918, she was married to Samuel Harold Stoner, who preceded her in death. In July 1940, she married Raymond Dempsey who preceded her in death. In July 1953, she married Chester A. Mappin who preceded her in death.

Surivors include two sons, Harold L. Stoner, Orlando, Fla.. and Donald Dempsey, Logansport; one daughter, Vivian A. Rude, Winamac; one sister, Bertha Funk, Kewanna; 15 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Three brothers, one son and one daughter preceded her in death.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, Royal Center. The Rev Howard Western and the Rev. James Cheney will officiate. Burial will be in the Star City Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home.
