Horace Robert "Bob" Breazeale passed into heaven on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at the age of 82. Bob was known for kindness, sweet smile and never ending one-liners...even in his last days. Bob was born in Abilene, Texas, on Dec. 22, 1930, to Horace Robert Breazeale Sr. and Zora Mae Breazeale. At a young age, the Breazeales moved to San Angelo and he became an "Angeloan" for life. Bob joined the United States Navy and served in the Korean conflict. He finished his service while being stationed in Japan. Upon returning to civilian life, Bob entered and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. He moved his family back to San Angelo and worked with his father in the insurance industry until his retirement. Bob was an avid fisherman, loved to cook, travel and treasured his time singing in the church choir in various churches in San Angelo. He also very much enjoyed his friends in his Sunday school class at Southland Baptist Church in his last years.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 22 years, Mrs. Delores Biggs-Breazeale; and his later companion, Margaret Ann Knieff. He is survived by his daughter, Beth Breazeale of Austin, Texas, her partner, Susan Obermiller; his son, David Breazeale of Granbury, Texas, his wife, Cindi, and his beloved granddaughters, Lauren and Courtney; and his son, Steve Breazeale, his wife, Kathy, and granddaughter Mrs. Renee Meyers and her children, Mila and Corbin.
Viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. We would like to mention our thanks to the following for their care, love and prayers for dad during his time in hospice: Mr. and Mrs. David and Mary Tarango and their daughter, Monica Balderas, who cared for dad in a way that was touched by God. Our extended family, the Sawyers and Hills, with special mention to Chloe Jane Hill and Billie Faye Sawyer who walk in a light that is brighter than the sun. We also want to mention our heartfelt gratitude to Odyssey Hospice and their staff of nurses: Isabel, Candi, Carol, Ann and Sherrie who worked so sweetly.
