Breese, John P. born in Sussex County, N. Y., in 1779, died in Veteran, N. Y., aged eighty-four, having served in the War of 1812. He married Merilda Webb, by whom he had these children: Louisa, Charles P., Henry V., Margaret A., John J, Henry M., Phoebe F., Hosea F., Harriet, and Sylvester. The later was born in New Jersey on August 11. 1805, and came to Southport in 1835, where he died aged seventy-six. He was a blacksmith by trade, and married Nancy, daughter of John and Margaret Stephens. His children were Margaret, Abram W. and Mary L. The latter married Stephen, son of Samuel McWhorter, and they have two children, Margaret and Louise. Mr. McWhorter is a farmer in Southport.
