Mary was united in marriage with Gaylord Rayls on December 19, 1959. She loved her family, fishing, and gardening.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband; brother George Garst; and sister Lela Brock.
Survivors include her children Allen, Mickell, Daniel, and Scott Rice, Elaine Wohler, Joyce Stelter, Karen Brumbaugh, and Pamela Newman; brothers Pat, Bob, and Mark Eldon Garst; sisters Opal Edwards, Sylvia Schramek, Cathy Smith, and Bonnie Strutt; 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, September 21 at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Harden Hospice or the Tammy Walker Cancer Center.
