The year of birth on his tombstone is incorrect. He reported 1876 as his year of birth on his draft registration and social security application. However, his parents reported he was age 6 in 1880, born between brother, William Henry Norton (b. 23 Sept 1873) and sister, Mary Viola (b. 5 May 1876).
James Warren Norton first married Etta Hodges on 12 Dec 1903 in Baker County, Florida. They were the parents of two children, Albert and Nita Norton. I presume she died snce the two children were living his mother's home in the 1910 census.
Next he married divorcee, Emma Cecelia Butler Hayes, 6 Dec 1911 in Baker County, Florida. She had two children by her first marriage to Joseph Henry Hayes, Calvin Jefferson and Bessie Lee Hayes.
