Robert was born April 12, 1932 in New Castle to the late Adrian and Mary (Zimmerman) DeWeese.
He is survived by Barbara (O'Neel), his wife of nearly 55 years, whom he married on June 13, 1953. Also surviving are their 5 children and 14 grandchildren: Andrea (husband Lindy) Heath, Charise, Isaac, Abigail, Cara, Josiah of West Lafayette; Lisa DeWeese (partner Marg Herder) of Indianapolis; Mark (wife Debbie), Nick, Mandy of Zionsville; Terri (husband Paul) Brumleve, Andrew, John, Mary, Eric of Indianapolis; and Lauri (husband Christopher) Aud, Rachel, Nathan, Emily of Woodland Hills, CA.
Robert, a graduate of New Castle High School, attended the University of Cincinnati and was a systems engineer for IBM. He retired from Data Processing Services in 1996. He was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family; his hobbies included fine woodworking, photography, and automobiles. Early in their Zionsville residency, he participated in Off Main Street Players. He was a member of the Zionsville United Methodist Church.
