Funeral services for James H. Cooper will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Griffin Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Suiter officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Garden.

Mr. Cooper died today at 4 a.m. after a lengthy illness at Veterans Hospital in Memphis.

He was 40 years old. Born in Chester County, Mr. Cooper resided at 96 Phillips Rd. in Jackson. He attended East Union Baptist Church and was employed at Conalco.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Joyce Lynch Cooper; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otho H. Cooper of Henderson; three sons, Allen, Cary, and Gary, all of Jackson; two daughters, Betty and Eva of Jackson; two brothers, Max Cooper of Jackson and Anthony Cooper of Pinson; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Leathers of Jackson and Mrs. Joyce Smith of Memphis.

Pallbearers will be Gilbert Alves, Lester Coleman, Charlie Coleman, Toney Wallace Williams, Ralph Terrell, Tom Davis, Jerry Whaley and Clyde Holland.
