Oxford - Joesph "Joey" Roger Allen, 59, passed away on September 16, 2009 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Baker (Kelly); his two sons, Jonathan Allen (Jennifer Jenkins) and Justin Allen (Ivarene Beltz); his mother, Pauline Maynard; a special cousin, Michael Bentley; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Allen is preceded in death by his father, Edward Allen; his brothers, Thomas Edward Allen and Danny David Allen, and his daughter, Jennifer Allen Brasher.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013, in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home and Crematory with Richard Bledsoe officiating.

Mr Allen was a former resident of Panama City, Fla., a Navy veteran and a graduate of Oxford High School, class of '71. He was the former owner/operator of Allen Enterprises.

Mr Allen enjoyed being with family and friends and he was an avid fisherman. He will forever be missed. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the American Heart Association. Miller Funeral Home.
