Morrice Stricklin, 80 of San Saba, formerly of Rotan, passed away late Monday evening in San Saba. Graveside services are set for Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 4 p.m. in the Belvieu Cemetery with Jacob West officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Weathersbee Funeral Home in Rotan.
Mrs. Stricklin was born October 31, 1921 in Rotan, TX to Grier and Ella (Morris) Coan. She later married Oather Douglas Stricklin and was a nurse at the Fisher County Hospital. Mrs. Stricklin was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Rotan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1970, two sisters, Altha Ashton and Alene Moore, one brother, Dueaine Coan and one great-grandchild, Justin Polk.
She is survived by her three daughters, Wanda Polk of Longview, TX, Donna Gillum of Burlington, CO and Crag Hoskins of San Saba, TX; one sister, Nell Ashley of Blythe, CA; six grandchildren, Mark Allen Polk, Angie Jo Gillum, Pamela Robertson, Trey Cillum, Windy Leigh Petty and Dusty Ray Hoskins; ten great-grandchildren, Heath Allen Polk, Tyler Polk, Jacee Gillum, Ashley Gillum, Cheyanna Petty, Brooklynn Petty, Gage Hoskins, Gatlyn Hoskins, Garrett Robertson and Noah Robertson.
