Veda R. Holton, 70, of Chillicothe, died 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at her residence following a short illness.
She was born November 21, 1942, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Albert and Cecil Graves Detty.
On December 12, 1966, she married Vernon W. Holton who died August 12, 1999.
Surviving are children, Roy (Peggy) Watters, of Chillicothe, Roger (Trish) Watters, of Hilliard, Ricky Watters, of Chillicothe, Marcella (Steve) Williams, of Paw Paw, IL, Pete (Cheri) Holton, of Southaven, MI and Angela (Teddy) Fout, of Ray; 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers, Howard (Margaret) Detty, of Washington, IN, Neil (Sonja) Detty and Norman (Betty) Detty, both of Chillicothe; sisters, Vivian (Samuel) Hill and Mary Newland, both of Chillicothe; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Rebecca Watters; 6 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Veda retired from Thompson Consumer Electronics.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 in the Ware Funeral Home with Pastor Stanley Kennedy officiating.
Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery.
Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ware Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
