Raised in Port Clinton, Ohio, Winifred Mizener Beech lived most of her adult life in Fresno, Calif., with her husband, Dr. Robert Decker Beech and children. After the death of her husband, Winnie started a resume writing business that she maintained until her late 80s before moving to Portland. Winifred was an avid reader and jazz fan, with a flair for fashion, art and interior design. An inspiration to her family, she supported their education, interests and careers throughout her life. Winifred is survived by her sister, Mary Thompson of Pacific Grove, Calif.; and by her children, Beverly B. Stafford and Bettina Blank of Portland and Dr. Anthony D. Beech of Los Altos, Calif., and their families; with five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Rose Schnitzer Manor and especially Mihaela and Lucian Roman of West Hill Adult Foster Home, for wonderful care of their mother. We will always be thankful for her humor, love of jazz, style and sense of entrepreneurship.
