Funeral Services for Sue was held at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, September 21, 2013, with Rev. Andrew L. Miller officiating.

Sue was the daughter of John G. and Susie (Chason) Culpepper. She worked at Central Michigan University in the Student Teaching Department. Sue married Wally Blodgett on January 1, 1980 at First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant. She was devoted to her husband and family and loved to spend time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sue and Wally loved to travel on trips abroad and winter trips to Florida.
She was very involved in the community. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Garden Club, Tourist Club, Women's City Club, including the position of President; a Book Club, CMU First Nighters, CMU Century Club, and a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant. She was a Lifetime member of the Central Michigan Community Hospital Women's Auxiliary, where she was co-chairman of the Hi-Fever Follies for the first five years of the show, chaired other committees and sang and danced in all of the early productions.
She played in a golf league at Riverwood Golf Course called the "Groovie Grannies."
Sue is survived by her children, Sandra (Frank) Boffa of Granville, OH, Landis Anderson of Mt. Pleasant, and Robert (Colleen) Horning of Waxahachie, TX; step-children, Ross (Terry) Blodgett of Mt. Pleasant, Ronn (Gordon Masters) Blodgett of Lansing, Larry (Deanne) Blodgett of Mt. Pleasant, Julie (Art) Aguirre of Haslett, and Nancy (Richard) Beckwith of St. Johns; stepson-in-law, David (Deb) Gloss of Clare; 14 grand children; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sue was preceded in death by her husbands, Wally Blodgett in 2011 and John Horning in 1977; parents; stepchildren, John C. Horning, Jr., Richard K. Horning, and Karen H. Gloss; son-in-law, Andy Anderson; brother, Neal Waldon; and sisters, Mildred McIntyre, Gertrude Hatton, and infant sister, Anna Laura.
