Probable Son of Robert Jonathan Marshall. Brother of William Marshall, who married Jane Bruce. Immigrated to Frederick County and Washington County, Maryland. Prior to 1789, Virginia claimed the areas of present-day Garrett and Allegheny Counties (themselves formerly of Washington County which was split from Frederick County in 1776) of present-day Maryland. Thus, in the time of John Marshall's residences, he was born in what was then Virginia (Hampshire County went to West Virginia in 1863), and he is listed in Frederick County in the 1770s. John served in the Militia with John Coy, Sr. John married first to Deborah Chambers and second to Margaret. Located to Nelson County, Kentucky in the 1780s. Father to six known Children...
