Lavern Karr, 83, of Doniphan died Sunday, Oct. 1, 1989 at a hospital in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Rosedale United Methodist Church southwest of Doniphan with the Rev. John Kim officiating. Burial will be in the Cederview Cemetery in Doniphan.
Mr. Karr was born in Doniphan Dec. 15, 1905. He attended Hall County District No. 11 school and graduated from Doniphan High School in 1924. After a short time, he began farming in the Doniphan area.
A lifelong resident of the Doniphan area, he married Ada Perkey Feb. 14, 1931, at Grand Island and they continued to farm in the area. They retired in 1975. She died Aug 10, 1981.
He was a member of the Rosedale United Methodist Church, Hastings Gem and Mineral Club and Doniphan Lions Club. He also was a charter member of Grand Island Earth Science Society.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Milton (Evelyn) Ruhter of Juniata and Mrs. Keith (Gladys) Rolls of Grand Island; one sister, Ada of Grand Island; one brother, Lloyd of Loveland, Colo.; four grandchildren; and three great-grand children.
